Either my coincidental timing is acute, or I'm hearing about something in the distance and it's barely piercing through.

The Newmar - belushi feud appears to have been widely reported, and I now know that she will appear tonight on "Life According to Jim."

Set your calendars.

She was born in 1933.

She remains most graceful ...

Ooooh, I'm Glad They Made Up

Julie Newmar and Jim Belushi have ended their feud, and he has withdrawn his lawsuit against her, sources report.

I went looking for this when i saw a brief moment of an ad for "Life According to Jim," and thought I saw Newmar.

The reports suggest that their episode together [part of making up] aired on 2/21, but I think it's upcoming...

she sells her picture, and provides other updates, on her website.

For Jestaplero

Jestaplero won't have Anna Benson to kick around anymore...

Dear God .....

In My Defense

I call women "broads" in the Don Rickles sense, because it makes me laugh.

Disrespect may be inferred, but it is not implied.

considering the decisions I've made, I have way too much respect [and fear] of and for women....

at least that's what I tell myself.

So Much Broccoli

So Little Time

The World Is Off Its Axis

What a

poorer world it seems after this weekend...

Rest In Peace

God Bless Them

The Sex Pistols have made their official announcement

Rest In Peace

I didn't realize, when I posted his picture last week, that he was near the end of his life.

I knew that his long-time wife and partner had died, and I knew that he wasn't well.

He was a splendid actor, and I enjoyed his presence on the screens very much.

Laughter is The best medicine

If there's anyone who doesn't yet stop by
Cheezygoof's site, you should change that tout suite!

I don't know a site that brings me more laughs and good feeling.

Although she does occasionally wander into the sentimental side. Like
the humping deaf couple; just too sweet....

Rocking Chicks

When I was growing up, a dedicated little rocker [and a committed punk rocker, though my ouvre doesn’t admit of it], chicks couldn’t rock.

I’d like to say it in softer tones – chicks were discouraged from rocking, chicks had fewer opportunities to rock, something like that. And that would all be true. But the core truth is that
chicks didn’t rock.

Some tried. The Wilson sisters wanted to be in Led Zeppelin so bad they could taste it, dudes. And Pat Benatar tried mightily, blowing DJs and getting her husband to overproduce her records to “rock.” But they didn’t.

The last ten years, I think that pretty much ONLY chicks have rocked. Liz Phair [okay; skip this last piece of dreck record], Veruca Salt, Courtney Love/Hole, Juliana Hatfield – these chicks have rocked my socks off.

Who are the guys that have rocked?

I’m not saying that there haven’t been fabulous singer/songwriters. I’m not saying that Weezer doesn’t touch on the rock, or that Fountains of Wayne can’t approximate it.

But who are the guys who have rocked?
And haven’t the chicks rocked yer socks off?

The Most Hated Woman

These are photographs of the most hated woman in my universe:

She is, IMMHE, the worst human being alive.

speaking of Jay-Z -- what do you mean I'm not right on time to the party?

Have you heard of this group "Blondie" .... ?

Black is Black Album

I'm not really familiar yet with ..."The Black Album," but "99 Problems" is a great song [especially a great sounding song]. What seems typical of the genre -- a clever line here or there, a catchy sound -- is actually a deep piece of art.

Makes me happy to find it out there.

I wish the dude din't look so goofy to me

Cronkite - No; Gowdy - Yes.

I do like this guy. He was great, he was part of my youth, and I'll miss his voice. I enjoyed knowing he was alive during his retirement.

Silence of Late

Not too much to report, oh ye faithful few out there still reading/watching/listening.

the vice president shot somebody, the Citgo bassmaster Championship is coming up, and the war in Iraq seems to have become a dull toothache in the back of the American mouth.

Ice dancers have been thrown willy-nilly. Recording has gone well, but there's no muse to justify doing it.

I've gotten some action, but it hasn't been fulfilling.

(the) Razz has worked for me.

I framed some artwork for the new office.

like I care.

I guess you could say it's an empty time.

A lot o' flicks in Jan. -- cache, glory road, the matador, tristan & isolde, the world's fastest indian

didn't bother to report.

I think I'm having demaciado serotonin reuptake, and must knock that down or I shall be in a bad way.

365 - 51 = 314

314 x 25.01 = 7853.14

That's $7,853.14 I have not spent on Jose Cuervo.

makes me feel a LOT better about the fuckin' money I HAVE spent the last ten motnhs...

As always, the numbers is conservative, based solely on Cuervo consumption [no wine/restaurant included]...

As a drunk, I drank a lot!!

I also shot a lot of guns from 2000 on....

I tried to avoid doing the two at the same time.

I shot no one.

Olympics - bleh

I don't care for the Olympics. It's jingoistic celebration of "national" heroes that I abhor. Or, at its best, its a celebration of sporting events I don't care for.

I do like boxing.

And, since I've been negative [I don't like Red Skelton or Walter Cronkite or Bruce Springsteen -- see?], I shall be positive.

I like the Nationals. I like the DC Metro, even if it's a toy. I like the NYC subway system. I like baked potatos. I like an electric razor on my neck. I like Dave Chappelle. I like Ike.

Weekend Recording

Well, the location test recording session went . . . okay. I guess.

I went to great troubles to do two things: (1) bring a 7200 rpm FW hardrive to record to, notwithstanding lots of testimonials that a laptop drive at 5400 could handle six simultaneous audio tracks [I was just grabbing stereo drums for this test; and (2) I loaded/prepared to use Tracktion 2, looking for ease ease ease of use.

Well, Tracktion 2 thought that it had not been installed on my computer. Meaning it thought it was a demo, meaning it made angry hissing noises occasionally. And I'm not sure whether that affected performance or not. It may have, because

the damned thing locked up a number of times. I hate that fucking beachball...

I actually got finished tunes a couple o' times. There's an unmixed [just raw levels; the guitar is about all you hear, and the electrodrums are there somewhere in the background] demo of it on the Black Puss myspace spot, even though these pussies aren't Black Puss and never will be.

By their own declarations, I might add . . .

Well, Hubbell is Black Puss. And Grahame defines Black Puss, but he did not partake.
Tom eschews Black Puss. Johnny Mac has not opined. But I digress ...

The headphone amp worked, the Onyx FW interface worked. The midi connection to mr. drums didn't work, but I think that's because it was a demo version of T2... Tom played well. JmAC was en transit and deferred participation to the dubbin' stage.

To Arouse Jestaplero

Greatest Baseball Player of All Times

Greatest Singles of All Times

I am thinking about the ten greatest singles of all times. Unranked; just the bag o' best.

I only have two right now; I'm still working.

"Makes No Sense At All" - Husker Du and

"No Matter What" - Badfinger.

I'm still working.

You, too, could work.

A Little-Recognized National Treasure

Let Me Rethink This

Ooooooops -- to donate money to save Freddy's they insist that the donation be at least twenty bucks.

I don't see a lot of Black Puss action with Andy Jackson in play.

It's all about the jacksons.
