** sigh **

You know, there are hidden dangers associated with agreeing to watch a puppy for a few days for yer daughter.

Like

being really late for work, and

having the little fucker steal your sock out of yer hand as you put it on,

your only known pair of socks within a 5-mile radius, mind you

and then having the li'l fucker fly under chairs and sofas, and up stairs, in a mad tease designed to infuriate and frustrate.

I got the sock back, and the puppy lived...

but I'm worn out.

What a charming pooch! How does he feel about tissues? Just curious.

Yon Belle [pronounced "Belly" by yours truly, to the great consternation of my youngest] is a femme. She feels that tissues are meant to be torn and scattered to the four corners of the world.

She takes after her great cousin to the South, in other words ....

Is Spam coming to the Old Dominion, or dost thou travelest to our Nation's Cap.?

Having missed our planned minor-league extravaganza [sounds like my next album, or possibly my sex life], we must of needs reschedule.

The Nats are still in town this weekend, y'know ....

Now, if you'd referred to the pup as little MISS fucker, I would have known she was a she . . .

It's a DC trip, but am a bit restricted re: activities as I shall carpool with the T. girl and some other crazy beach chicks . . . a belated birthday fling in honor of the one who shares Mister Parker's day -- and we're supposed to return South on Sun. -- altho, there is the possibility that if the Nats play a day game on Sun. that I can convince 'em to hit the game. I know that at least 2 of the 3 with me will be up for it -- and if we can work it out, I want to alert Miss Chris as well Of course -- that would mean that you'd be surrounded by women -- I mean, wimmin -- throughout the game, which might be kind of be a drag for you . . .

I'm wondering if there's even a chance we could get Miss Annie for an afternoon. Of course, I'm making these plans not even knowing the schedule -- that would require pressing a couple more buttons . . .

Yeah; God, I hate that . . .

;-)

The Nats play the Padres at 1:05 that day. Here are the probable pitching match-ups:

Clay Hensley, RHP (5-6, 4.16)
Padres (44-40) @ John Patterson, RHP (1-2, 4.31)
Nationals (37-49)

Scouting Report:
Hensley let a 2-0 lead get away with a five-run fourth inning against the Phillies on Tuesday, two of the runs unearned. He's an intense competitor and has to guard against rushing himself when he gets in trouble. Stepping off the mound and composing himself would help. He stuck with his fastball, as he'd promised, and needs to keep it down in the zone to be effective. He struck out five and walked none, pitching superbly in five of his six innings.
Patterson will face the Padres for the eighth time in his career. He is 2-3 with a 3.26 ERA against them. In his last start, Patterson ended up pitching five innings and gave up two runs on four hits againsg the Marlins. It was Patterson's first appearance since suffering right arm fatigue against the Blue Jays on June 29.

Now that you mention Anne, it occurs to me -- Grahame and I got to see a game a few weeks ago. If Anne is freed up by my watching, or helping to watch, M & M, then I should and do offer to watch them, and will extend that to the D family. This would, of course, make it a "girls day out," but I'm not sure these days that my presence would have affected that. sigh . . .

We should probably use e-mail, but eff that!

Re:scouting -- please tell me something I don't aleady know.

Email is passe, my friend. The blog is in, email is out. It's just like all those people who insist on having cell phone conversations in the grocery store so that you can't think to compare prices b/c you're too busy being subjected to Mary's play-by-play about blah blah blah . . .

the big sandbox

I now realize this is likely to be "the beach."

This is too damned cool a term; I'm not surprised that you would just spill it out like that, where it slips in like a timebalm....

see how I keep the NatSecAge hopping with my misspellings?

Mayhaps we can game-ify; and p'raps the girls' day out is still possible.

she is a damnably cute dog, although now bigger than she was in that photo [not that you can tell, with that perspective ].

I am worn out by her, and she's not even mine...

You are so right about the big sandbox. Miss K. rocks. Miss K. is most articulate. This is one of many reasons Miss K. is the eye of the Loop.
